Personal Profile
I feel that I'm a good team player, I have the skills to work well and effective in a team because I'm laid back and easy to get a long with. What motivates me is the feeling of self accomplishment. If I can end the day and think to myself "well that was good" and feel that I've actually done something worth while in that day, then the time and effort that went into my work, is time and effort well spent.
Key Skills
- I can work well within a team, as I'm in the district youth council which are a group of young people that try to put on events and such for the youth of Alton to enjoy instead of being the apparent 'yobs' that you see so often in the news papers. It's also to get their voices heard among the elder community.
- I was also a part of the prefect team at secondary school working within a small team of people to make sure that the school rules were abided by.
- I can take responsibility for things if a situation goes bad then try to apply some kind of leadership in trying to rectify where things went wrong.
- I feel that I can communicate well If I need to. I've written a fair few letters to the town council about issues that I myself have come across and have raised at a few of their meetings.
- I think that I'm good at solving problems because of the programming interests, it requires you to be able to solve several different problems to make one effective program, which I feel I can do quite well. But also with being in the youth council, with issues that arise at meetings, plans need to be devised and mapped out, which the problem solving skills really do help with.
- One of the most important skills I have that I think will be valued quite well is the ability to listen to what people have to say and take feedback and then go on to apply what people have said to improve myself.
- I'm easy to talk to which my friends and people I study with value so none of them are afraid to talk to me about any issues they may have.

Work Experience

Description: During two weeks of summer 2011 I had a contract with Alton College to be on the IT staff helping to re-arrange, upgrade and replace the computer technology all over college. This was a good experience for me as I could explore some of the key aspects of working in a team to get a job done as I worked within a team of 4 people distributing tasks in amongst ourselves so that at the end of the day we could get the job done.

Interests
The one main thing that really interests me is programming, I love using a variety of different lines of code to make one application for a computer, seeing how doing things in different ways to get to the same outcome. Along side the idea of programming, I also find that web development is a nice thing to do as a pass time. Making an application or a website that is going to be well used by a lot of people is possibly one of the best feelings anyone could get from working hard on something, and with the way the world is at the moment with over 1/3 of the population on facebook® it seems that web development is where the future is going to be heading.
